The relationships you cultivate have a powerful impact on your spiritual journey. When you form close bonds with those who are not aligned with God, their influence can subtly or overtly steer you away from Him. Intimate friends shape your thoughts, values, and actions, which is why itβs critical that those in your inner circle share your faith and devotion to the Lord. A person who is not a friend of God will not encourage you toward holiness, and over time, this relationship can dull your spiritual sharpness and lead you astray.
Choose your closest companions wisely. Seek out those whose love for God is evident in their lives, those who will inspire and challenge you to grow in your relationship with Christ. Friendship with godly people strengthens your walk with the Lord, while friendship with those far from Him weakens it. Let your closest relationships reflect your commitment to Christ, ensuring that the people you draw close to are drawing closer to God as well.
"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
