You cannot earn your way to salvation. No matter how righteous you try to be, your own efforts will always fall short of God’s perfect standard. The only works that can justify you before God are the works of Christ—His perfect life, sacrificial death, and triumphant resurrection. It is Christ’s righteousness alone that covers your sin and makes you right before God. Your good deeds, though important, cannot save you. Only the finished work of Jesus can.
Don’t strive for salvation through your own merit today, because Jesus has already accomplished everything on your behalf. Your faith is not in your works but in His. Rest in the finished work of Christ, knowing that your justification is secure because it is based entirely on what He has done, not on what you can do.
"For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin."
— Romans 3:20
