Brief Biographical Summary
William Carey (1761–1834), often called the “Father of Modern Missions,” was an English missionary who devoted his life to spreading the gospel in India. His passion for God’s work inspired the formation of mission societies and set a foundation for modern missionary efforts.
Fun fact: Carey was also a linguist who translated the Bible into multiple Indian languages, including Bengali, Oriya, and Assamese, making Scripture accessible to millions.
