Are You Standing on the Gospel Alone?

The gospel is the foundation of the Christian life. It is not just the starting point of faith, it is the very heart of it. Salvation is not earned by works, religious efforts, or personal goodness; it is secured by Christ alone. Justification comes through faith in Him, not in human striving. Standing on any foundation other than the gospel leads to uncertainty and fear, but trusting in Christ alone brings confidence and peace.

Today, consider where your hope is placed. Are you relying on your own efforts to be right with God, or are you resting fully in the finished work of Christ? Stand firm on the gospel, for it is the power of salvation to all who believe.

"For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified."
— 1 Corinthians 2:2

Brief Biographical Summary

Martin Luther (1483–1546) was a German theologian and a key figure in the Protestant Reformation. His teaching on justification by faith alone transformed Christianity and led to a renewed focus on the authority of Scripture.

Fun fact: Luther’s famous 95 Theses, which sparked the Reformation, were originally meant to start a scholarly debate—he never intended to lead a revolution.
