Are You Longing for Christ Above All?

A heart set on Christ finds joy and fulfillment in Him alone. The greatest treasure is not in what God gives but in who He is. Heaven is not merely a place of reward, it is the presence of Christ. A life truly lived for God longs to know Him more, delighting in His presence above all else.

When you go about your business today, remember that He is with you. Ask for wisdom in the little and big things, and praise Him for the many pleasures he brings you along the way from the food you eat to the work you accomplish.

"Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you."
— Psalm 73:25

Brief Biographical Summary

Samuel Rutherford (1600–1661) was a Scottish pastor and theologian known for his passionate devotion to Christ. His letters, filled with deep love for Jesus, continue to inspire believers.

Fun fact: Rutherford’s letters were so moving that Charles Spurgeon once called them "the nearest thing to inspiration which can be found in all the writings of mere men."
